ReCore: Definitive Edition has been rumored for a while now but the game’s developers and Microsoft still haven’t made an official announcement regarding its existence. That changed today when a new thumbnail visual was pushed out to game owners around the world that not only changed the image but pretty clearly displayed the words ‘ ReCore: Definitive Edition’.

Several users on Reddit first noticed this change and while some have reported that the image has since reverted back to its original version (Note: It had when I checked), some are still seeing it live in their accounts.

ReCore: Definitive Edition on Xbox One and Windows 10

What’s interesting is that this Definitive Edition version of the game appears to be an update to the existing game and not a separate release which is usually the case with these special versions of video games. One of the reasons for this is likely the fact that the initial launch of ReCore was fairly rushed and was lacking some major content (such as a character and area) that is still missing today. Given the release of the Xbox One X console and the upgrading of so many Xbox One titles to implement 4K visuals, it’s likely, though not confirmed, that ReCore: Definitive Edition could feature Xbox One X compatibility as well, especially with it being published by Microsoft.
