Recap: The Game Awards packs big Xbox news, new trailers, gameplay footage and releases into its end-of-the-year show

Last night the gaming industry was treated to a host of news, trailers, and announcements as it celebrated the 2020 Game Awards.
With everyone’s eyes on the awards show, Microsoft took that opportunity to unload a ton of its end of year announcements in almost rapid-fire succession unveiling that Flight Simulator would be making its way to Series X|S consoles, Master Chief making an appearance in Fortnite, ARK II console exclusive, a reboot of Perfect Dark from its new studio The Initiative, and a lot more.
As for the show itself, Sony exclusive Last of Us II went home with seven awards ranging from Game of the Year to Innovation in Accessibility while other winners such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons took home Best Family Game and Microsoft’s Flight Sim owned the Best Sim/Strategy category.

As for other reveals from the night, fans were treated to gameplay footage for Back 4 Blood, a new Cyberpunk 2077 Forza Horizon 4 DLC, Dragon Age 4 Endless Dungeon, new Warframe content, CoD: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 gameplay, a trailer for Elite Dangerous, Evil Dead gameplay, Elder Scrolls Online and so much more.
