The fitness and wellness tracking industry is becoming a hotly contested space with a few names rising as wearable leaders. As per the nature of these devices and services, users want the data collected from their preferred device to be as mobile as they are (or in most cases, want to be). Unfortunately, that has left many Windows users out in the cold on this trend as most development steers towards iOS and Android as more mobile-friendly solutions.
Fortunately, activity and life tracker company, Misfit, offers a wide range smart connected peripherals that include wrist-based wearables, smart bulbs, and mattress-based sleep monitors that can be tracked and studied via Windows devices as well.
Recently, Twitter user @tomsnicetweets noticed the Misfit app in the Windows Store underwent a UI revamp that brings it on par with its iOS cousin. Perhaps, the Misfit developers are among the tiny sliver of early Islandwood (iOS porting tool) users who have used the tool bring over a similar iOS experience to Windows users.

Also, the revamped Misfit app for Windows appears to bring Live Tile functionality with it. Beyond the physical redesign, users of the Misfit app on Windows get access to:
- Goal Setting – track your running, cycling, swimming and more
- Activity Meter – check your activity progress and see your steps, calories, and distance travelled.
- Intensity Graph – See your activity level grow over time
- Sleep Tracking – Sleep quality, duration, and sleep goals
- Weight Tracking – Keep track of your long-term progress and fitness goals.
- Shine with Friends – Personalize your profile, add friends and compare your daily activity
For obvious reasons, to access stats and metrics from the Misfit app and service on Windows, users need to already process a Misfit Shine or Flash sensor. The Misfit app supports Windows 10, 8.1 on both PCs and mobile devices.
If you happen to have the combination of Misfit hardware and a Windows device, let us know about the redesign and what other new features we may have missed.
