Phantom Dust is being re-released as an Xbox Play Anywhere title sometime today which means that it will soon be available to download and play on both Xbox One console and Windows 10 devices. What’s more, the game will be completely free for everyone.

Phantom Dust is a game that was originally released on the first Xbox console back in 2004 in Japan and 2005 internationally. This re-release hasn’t been given the graphical and gameplay overhaul that most re-released games receive but it has been reformatted for widescreen monitors and has some slight framerate improvements according to Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg.

Microsoft Studios released a short video describing what the game is about and what sort of modes it contains.

The Xbox/Windows Store product listing for Phantom Dust hasn’t gone live yet so it’s unclear what new features, if any, it could contain. It’s probably safe to say that it will support cloud saves and achievements though (like all Xbox One games).
