Microsoft offers small businesses six free months of Microsoft 365 Business Basic

In response to the coronavirus pandemic that profoundly affected how we work and the tools we use, Microsoft has found a new way to help small businesses to adapt to these exceptional circumstances. The software giant has just offered a free six months Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscription plan to small businesses, allowing them to cope with the increasing need to communicate virtually with their customers. However, the offer is only valid for new subscriptions. Microsoft announced the limited-time offer on its Community website yesterday:

As small businesses adapt to the increased need to have people work remotely and connect with their customers virtually, new subscribers to Microsoft 365 Business Basic can get the first six months free of charge. Get a custom email domain, access to Office web apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, and more), cloud storage, and host meetings with up to 250 people via Teams.

Notably, the Microsoft 365 Business Basic includes access to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, OneNote (plus Access and Publisher for PC only), and 1 TB of OneDrive storage every month. The announcement comes at a time when thousands of small businesses are currently struggling with the management and engagement of customers, as many SMEs don’t have the resources to employ active customer engagement. Indeed it’s a good step by Microsoft to help them deal with the ongoing situation.
