Back in June, and right after E3, we reported on the fact that the Xbox One S would require a free Kinect Adapter. Today, we are happy to provide some additional details on how you will be able to get that free Kinect Adapter once the Xbox One S is released.
To register for the free adapter, all you will need is an existing Xbox One console, an Xbox One Kinect, and an Xbox One S console. You must then go to this web page with the serial number for each device on hand. To streamline the process, you can also head over to Device Support and make sure your Xbox One Console and Xbox One Kinect Sensor are registered to your Microsoft account.
If the method described above does not work, you can also purchase the adapter separately from Amazon by clicking here. The adapter is priced at $39.99 and is set to come out on August 31st, 2016.
