The updated tables page in Power Apps is now available to all makers, thanks to Microsoft. The new feature incorporates recent innovations made to the home page and offers two new methods for table creation. These methods include conversation-based creation and one-click table upload from Excel files, both powered by Copilot.

We are excited to share with you the updated tables page experience, which is now generally available for all makers, the company said in a blog post.

Unfolding the Microsoft’s Updated Tables Page Experience in Power Apps

The new tables page experience in Power Apps promises a series of nifty features all bundled together in one efficient platform. It offers an opportunity to create tables utilizing a wide array of versatile options, recently added to the new home page.

Key among these features are the conversation-based table creation and a swift one-click table upload feature. Both these functionalities are powered by Microsoft’s intelligent assistant, Copilot.

Getting Started with the New Tables Page in Power Apps

When you access the updated tables page, you’ll find multiple options that cater to different needs, regardless of whether you’re a novice or an experienced user. The main tiles on the tables page are clickable, and each will take you on a unique journey to create a table that suits your requirements.

Users can now create new tables via dialogue or upload an Excel file. A click on Describe the new table opens up a communicative, AI-fueled avenue to create new tables, complete with pre-populated sample data. This innovative offering is brought to life by Microsoft’s Copilot.

If you want to create a new table from Excel data, choose the “Upload an Excel file” option and follow a few easy steps. If you would rather begin with a blank slate or a virtual table, choose the “Start with a blank table” or “Create a virtual table” options.

Currently, Copilot capabilities are only available in the U.S. region, but there are plans to expand to more regions in the future.

For the Advanced Makers

If you’re an advanced user and want more control over your table metadata, you can select the “Set advanced properties” option. This will give you access to the advanced table properties and launch the create table panel, giving you extensive control over your table.

The new tables page experience provides an exciting mixture of new features that revamp the table creation process. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
