Just two weeks after EA and developer Bioware announced that Mass Effect: Andromeda would be coming early to EA/Origin Access subscribers ahead of the game’s release in March, we now have more details about how the free trial will work (via Gamerant). Indeed, the official Mass Effect Twitter account revealed yesterday that suscribers will be able to download the game on March 16 and enjoy the Play First trial for 10 hours right away. Moreover, multiplayer gameplay will be available during the free trial and players will also be able to carry their progress over to the full game.
However, if you are an Origin Access or EA Access member, then you can start downloading and playing on the 16th for up to 10 hours.

Exactly, no need to download the game a second time and you get to keep the progress you make in the 10 hours.

For those unfamiliar, Mass Effect: Andromeda is a futuristic action RPG set in an open world universe, and this 10 hours trial should be more than enough to become familiar with the gameplay. The game will be released on March 21 in North America and then on March 23 in the rest of the world, and you can already pre-order it on both the Xbox Store and Origin.
