Microsoft may rename Edge's Circle to Copilot to Copilot Vision

Microsoft Edge and Copilot are closely connected, but it seems that Microsoft plans to make some changes in Edge.

This is a minor change that probably won’t affect the functionality as Microsoft is working to rename Circle to Copilot.

Microsoft renamed Circle to Copilot to Copilot Vision in Edge Canary

Circle to Copilot is an upcoming feature in Edge, and it is inspired by Google’s Circle to Search feature that is available on phones.

Using Circle to Copilot, you can quickly start the AI assistant, and all that you have to do is draw a circle while holding the right-click.

You can also use the Alt + Shift + X shortcut and it will give you a new UI with options to extract text from an image and send it to Copilot.

Microsoft has also added dedicated settings for Circle to Coplot thus informing users that it’s no longer an experimental feature as it’s now available by default in Insider versions of Edge.

The settings state that Circle to Copilot is available by default on web pages and screens. If needed, users can adjust their settings and assign a different shortcut key to launch this feature.

While Microsoft has changed its name and settings to Copilot Vision, you’ll still see Circle to Copilot when using the gesture.

Microsoft has also changed the wording in Copilot settings and the new settings state that Copilot now can read context clues on the web.
