The much-anticipated God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to God of War, was officially launched on PC. Santa Monica Studio and Jetpack Interactive collaborated to bring the game to PC, introducing new features and settings for players. The game’s PC version is available via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
According to Sony, the developers aimed to offer players a more customizable experience with God of War Ragnarok on PC. As such, two new settings are being introduced to the game, both of which will be available in the console version.
The first is a “Reduced Puzzle Hints” setting, which, as the name suggests, will reduce the frequency of puzzle hints from other characters in the game.
The other setting, “Cinematic Audio Description,” will play audio descriptions of visual events during cinematics. These descriptions will provide additional contextual information alongside the spoken dialogue to create a more detailed experience for players with low vision.
The PC version of “God of War Ragnarök” also includes custom alerts for streamers, a new fan kit with social media banners and wallpapers, and more. And if you’re playing on a capable PC, you’ll be able to enjoy the game at high resolutions and frame rates.
The “God of War” series is no stranger to PC; the 2018 game hit the platform last year and was followed by “God of War: Chaos of Creation” in February. But with “Ragnarök,” PC players are getting a game day and date with the PlayStation release, a massive win for PC gamers eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Kratos’ story.
To celebrate the game’s launch on PC, Santa Monica Studio is making available a new fan kit with social media banners and wallpapers, including ultrawide options for those with supported monitors.
Regarding high-res support, “God of War Ragnarök” on PC will run at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on capable hardware. The game also supports ultra-wide monitors, and players can customize their experience with toggles for depth of field, motion blur, and more.
However, if you want to know if you can play this game on your Windows PC, then make sure to check the system requirements. Hint: They’re buff, but every mid- to high-end PC should be able to run smoothly.
You should also know you’ll need a PlayStation Network account to play it on Steam.
