The whole point about the new AMD latest-generation Ryzen processor is that it not only can power desktop computers, but also small, yet strong, mini-PCs. And the rumors in tech world say August is important month to note down on our calendars for new such devices powered by AMD’s Strix Point APUs.
Now, let’s get to the main point. As we’ve learned from Videocardz, the excitement comes from AOOSTAR, a name you probably don’t know because they have been quietly operating in the Mini-PC and eGPU markets. They giving clues about new product using latest AMD Ryzen CPU, and it not just any Ryzen. It is the Strix Point series, allegedly featuring the Zen5 architecture. This not only concerns laptops or tablets; it also aims to introduce this advanced technology into Mini-PCs and maybe even new handheld gadgets.
But there’s a catch – buying one of these Mini-PCs might need some waiting. Even though the official release is planned for August, it appears we will have to wait until October before these gadgets are available in stores. It is kind of a waiting game, like what we saw with Intel’s Meteor Lake chips in the mini-PC area.
And just when you think AMD finished showing everything, there is more. AOOSTAR is now testing a new Radeon RX 7650M XT eGPU solution, which should be available in July. This new upgrade aims at making your graphics experience better, using the same Navi 33 GPU but now with power limit allowing up to 130W TGP.
For people who have been watching AMD carefully, this news might not be a big surprise. And with a special keynote coming up at Computex next week, we are very excited and can’t wait to see what AMD will present for desktop and mobile platforms.
I will be very interesting to see how these new Ryzen processors change the Mini-PC world. And what about that eGPU solution – maybe it is the upgrade we all hope for? Let’s see if AMD will make these exciting rumors come true.
In the meantime, we can discuss about all this in the comments section below.
