Snapdragon X Elite CPUs are making a big impact on the market, but how well does Snapdragon X Elite handle gaming? In today’s guide, we’re going to answer that.

How does gaming on Snapdragon X Elite work and is it viable?

Being an ARM processor, Snapdragon X Elite does have a few limitations, and it can’t run games that use kernel-level anti-cheat drivers.

In addition, games that use the AVX instruction set won’t work since the CPU doesn’t support them.

Gaming performance

Snapdragon Elite X is capable of handling older titles without too many issues in full HD resolution, but issues arose with Cyberpunk which is expected.

Do keep in mind that other users had different results, but again Snapdragon X Elite was able to handle e-sports titles without too many issues while struggling a bit with newer single-player games.

The CPU can handle older games as long as you lower your graphics settings to the minimum and use 1080p or 720p resolution. As for indie games, unless there’s a driver issue, you should be able to run most of them without issues.

What games don’t work on Snapdragon X Elite?

PUBG: Battlegrounds wasn’t able to start on this CPU, simply because there’s no support for kernel-level anti-cheat. Apex Legends and Fortnite are also on the list since there’s no support for ARM architecture.

Helldivers 2 is another game that can’t run due to a lack of AVX. If you’re a Call of Duty player, you should know that the game is also unable to run.

The following games experienced issues and are unplayable:

  • Counter-Strike 2
  • Warframe
  • Diablo IV
  • Valheim
  • Street Fighter 6
  • Doom Eternal

Conclusion

Snapdragon X Elite is a great CPU, and while it’s suited for everyday tasks, it can handle some light gaming thanks to the emulation.

It’s worth mentioning that this affects both the performance and stability of the games, but that will be improved in the future, especially if developers start optimizing games for the ARM platform.

Regarding compatibility, not all games are compatible with this CPU, but the WorksOnWOA project has an extensive list of all compatible games, so be sure to use it.
