According to a report, Microsoft is collaborating with Capcom to release more of its games on Xbox consoles. The games mentioned are from a group of classic Marvel-themed games that were re-released this year but not for Xbox consoles.

Capcom revealed that a new compilation of seven famous Marvel-themed games will be reissued as The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. The first two Marvel vs. Capcom fighting games are part of this collection, which is set to hit the market in June. However, it’s important to note that only PC, Sony PS4, and Nintendo Switch platforms will have access to these re-released versions—not Xbox consoles.

Another fighting game that has been recently re-released, SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, is not coming to Xbox either. This situation makes many Xbox fans disappointed with these decisions.

Capcom didn’t give any reason for this exclusion, but some fans have said that the game’s use of Capcom’s MT Framework engine, which doesn’t work on Microsoft’s Xbox One, is why. A few of those fans have claimed that other Capcom games using MT Framework—such as Great Ace Attorney and the two Monster Hunter Stories titles—skipped the Microsoft Xbox platform because they couldn’t run with it, too.

But this weekend, there is fresh optimism that all those re-released games might finally debut on Xbox consoles. In the Xbox Two podcast (at 2:09:35), Jez Cordon from Windows Central states through anonymous sources that “Microsoft is actively engaged with Capcom” to resolve this MT Framework issue so that these games can be launched on Xbox consoles.

The report doesn’t include when Microsoft expects to solve this problem. If they try to fix it with Capcom and make these missing re-released games available, we might see them on the Xbox platform soon. Or who knows, in the cloud, as many think this is the future of the console.
