Microsoft will reportedly retire the Paint 3D App later this year

Microsoft has chosen to retire the Paint 3D app. First released in 2017 when Windows 10 Creators Update came out, the Paint 3D app promised to revolutionize how we create digital art by introducing us to a third dimension straight from our Windows devices.
At that point, its goal was simple: offer an updated and modern version that allows users to create three-dimensional works of art within this iconic software program.
But, even with its lofty aspirations and fair response from people who tried it out, it seems that Paint 3D could not fully win over the majority. According to famous Windows enthusiast @phantomofearth, Microsoft has decided that on November 4, Paint 3D will be removed from the Microsoft Store, and no more updates are planned for this software.
This action is not entirely unexpected. Some time ago, Microsoft ceased to include Paint 3D as a default application on fresh Windows devices. However, for users who depend on it for their 3D modeling requirements, this news may feel somewhat painful to them in some way or another.
The app, famous for its sleek appearance and ability to produce 3D art without any hassle, was a step forward in making 3D modeling more user-friendly. Yet, not many people hopped on.
Then, you may ask, what comes now? For someone who has become fond of Paint 3D, the immediate question is where to go for their 3D modeling requirements. Microsoft recommends exploring other complex 3D modeling programs such as Autodesk 3ds Max or Blender that deliver significantly more intricate tools and functions for individuals prepared to elevate their 3D artistry.
Curiously, Paint 3D is leaving, but the classic Microsoft Paint app has been getting some attention from its creators. Updates have come in with layers, transparency, and even AI-fueled features – giving fresh energy to this decades-old program.
