new outlook

The new Outlook for Windows and Web will receive a string of capabilities focused on managing event attendees. According to the latest entries in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, one capability will be released in September, while the other two will be released in October. They’re focused on sorting, filtering, and copying lists of attendees.

For instance, managers can sort meeting attendees alphabetically with a simple click.

Allow users to sort meeting attendees in the tracking list alphabetically.

Outlook will also let them filter meeting attendees by name in the tracking list and copy that list from the calendar event onto any document.

You’re not wrong if you think these are essential features that every email app should have. However, the new Outlook for Windows has only recently been made generally available to users, so Microsoft has chosen an excellent time to enhance it with these features.

They’re instrumental in encouraging people to migrate to the new Outlook. Despite the better capabilities and intuitive interface, the new Outlook pales compared to the classic version, and many would prefer to stay with that version.

While initially thought that the classic Outlook would be retired by 2025, Microsoft decided to keep the version for a while, up until 2029, and it is strongly possible that it will become a web app.

Let’s hope that until 2029, users will migrate to the new Outlook. What do you think about these new features?
