The Microsoft OneDrive platform has been updated to include new AI and productivity features designed to enhance the user experience.

The new features include Copilot Agents, which allow users to create custom AI assistants to handle repetitive tasks, and expanded file comparison and search capabilities.

In a blog post, Microsoft says the new features will roll out to commercial customers over the next few months.

OneDrive is also getting a performance boost with faster web experiences and improvements to the mobile app. The mobile app is being redesigned to prioritize photos and includes new search capabilities that allow users to conduct natural language searches.

A new feature called File Import is coming to the OneDrive mobile app. It will allow users to import photos, videos, and documents from Google Drive, Google Photos, and Dropbox.

Microsoft says the updated mobile app is rolling out to Android users starting today and will be available for iOS users in November.

For Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers, Microsoft is introducing 5TB and 10TB storage tiers beyond the current 2TB limit, plus the ability to finally color the OneDrive folders in Windows File Explorer, as you can see in the image below.microsoft onedrive

Finally, Microsoft says that it’s working to bring the OneDrive photo experience to other platforms, including the web and Mac, and that it plans to integrate its Copilot AI features into the Windows and Mac file browsers, allowing users to take advantage of Copilot’s capabilities across multiple cloud storage services.
