The new Windows Intelligence category

Copilot had a very bumpy but steep evolution, mostly upwards, because Microsoft included it in all possible apps. They even made sure that laptops and PCs get the Copilot+ branding. Now, Paul David Hewson shared on X a caption from a Windows 11 appprivacy.adml file that puzzles everyone.

The highlighted part points at a Windows Intelligence feature that obviously hints at Apple Intelligence. The file is designed to instruct other apps to allow or deny access to Windows Intelligence: Let Apps Access Windows Intelligence.

Some specialists suggest a possible rebranding of Copilot as Windows Intelligence, but that is highly unlikely because it will dilute all the brand awareness around the Copilot name. However, this new feature or category might be the name given to all the Microsoft AI-related tools.

That would certainly be a clever way to ultimately allow Recall work on your PC. You will Let Apps Access Windows Intelligence and this way, provide access to all AI features.

However, isn’t Windows Intelligence a too blatant referral to Apple’s AI bot? We don’t yet know what Windows Intelligence is and whether it will ever be implemented so we’ll keep an eye on the developments. We’ve learned about this from TechRadar.
