excel post-migration remediation

Those working with Excel might be pleased that Microsoft enhances the platform with post-migration remediation. This means that if you access Excel files outside of your organization’s cloud and they appear corrupt or incompatible, Excel will repair them or remediate them if you wish.

It’s an excellent way to manage old or archived documents, get access to data, and even restore it. The Redmond-based tech giant says Excel’s post-migration remediation works with other non-Microsoft cloud platforms.

Here’s the entry:

Enable the remediation of incompatible formulas and file links in formulas in Excel files after migration from other cloud platforms to Microsoft 365.

According to the entry, Microsoft will enhance Excel with this capability in January 2025.

In other news, Excel for the web will soon get Python support, which was introduced to the standard platform a while ago. This will allow users to streamline their workflow using Python functions.
