Outlook users who migrated to the new version of Windows and the Web app will be able to pick a custom color for their folder icons soon. According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the tech giant wants users to differentiate their folders and improve workflow all around easily.
Here’s what the entry says:
We’re introducing the ability to customize folder icon colors in the New Outlook. This feature lets you change the color of folder icons, making it easier to differentiate and personalize your folders visually. #newoutlookforwindows
The new capability will be accessible to users starting February 2025.
Microsoft recently announced the same feature for OneDrive in Windows 11, with users being able to customize the color of the folders within the cloud service, so this might be extended to other Microsoft-based services and products.
