Microsoft Seashell Blizzard

Microsoft released a lengthy blog post detailing the severity of the cyber threats enabled by the Russian Seashell Blizzard worldwide.

Initially starting in Eastern Europe, with a heavy focus on Ukraine, the cyberattack campaign spread throughout the world. It encompassed a complex strategy, ranging from scanning and exploiting victim infrastructure to phishing, spreading malware, or compromising local IT infrastructure.

The Redmond-based tech giant has discovered that Seashell Blizzard coordinated a series of targeted, opportunistic, and hybrid attacks, all with the goal of destabilizing infrastructures in the United States, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, or any other geopolitically significant region.

Microsoft details each attack, providing substantial information and ways to recognize and deal with such cyber threats.

You can read more about it in the official blog post.
