windows 11 narrator

The Windows 11 narrator will be powered by AI to provide image descriptions to users, according to a hidden capability spotted by tech enthusiast @phantomofearth in the latest Windows Insider builds.

The capability, teased by Microsoft last year at Ignite, is now hidden in Snapdragon-based Copilot+PCs, and it can be uncovered using the third-party app ViveTool and the following command:

vivetool /enable /id:55393518

The capability uses the device’s NPU to provide the description, which can be extremely useful for impaired individuals and can also be used as alternative text for SEO reasons.
