Microsoft has announced a new Xbox Free Play Days lineup, giving Game Pass subscribers free access to several titles through March 2.

According to True Achievements, this weekend’s Free Play Days selection includes a mix of new releases, indies, and a major upcoming shooter test.

Xbox Free Play Days runs through March 2

Game Pass subscribers can download and play selected titles for free until Monday, March 2. As usual, any progress or achievements earned during the event will carry over if players decide to purchase the games.

This weekend’s featured titles include:

  • Marathon
  • Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration
  • Stuffed
  • Moving Out 2
  • Anno 117: Pax Romana

The lineup blends nostalgia, co-op chaos, strategy, and a high-profile multiplayer test.

Marathon headlines the weekend with Server Slam

Marathon takes center stage as part of its ongoing Server Slam test ahead of its full launch on March 5. The large-scale playtest gives Xbox players early access to Bungie’s PvP extraction shooter set on Tau Ceti IV.

However, Marathon currently does not support Xbox achievements during the Server Slam period. Players can test gameplay and servers, but achievement hunters will need to wait for the full release.

Moving Out 2 and achievement-friendly options

Moving Out 2 is already included across all Game Pass tiers, but it may also be temporarily accessible to all Xbox users during the Free Play Days event.

For completionists, Moving Out 2 achievements can reportedly be finished in around 20 hours. Meanwhile, Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is estimated to take between 15 and 20 hours for full achievement completion.

Completion estimates remain unclear for Anno 117: Pax Romana and Stuffed, though both offer players a chance to sample different genres without committing to a purchase.

A trial window for upcoming and lesser-known games

Free Play Days continues to serve as a discovery tool for both upcoming releases and smaller titles. Players can test gameplay mechanics, performance, and overall appeal before deciding to buy.

Some trial limitations, including potential time restrictions or feature caps, have not yet been fully clarified for every title in the lineup.

The update arrives as new data suggests Xbox Game Pass can drive more than 500,000 additional players to popular releases shortly after launch. At the same time, rumors continue to circulate that Microsoft may enhance the Game Pass Ultimate subscription in the near future.

With a mix of strategy, co-op fun, retro classics, and a major multiplayer test, this weekend’s Free Play Days event offers something for nearly every type of Xbox player.
