Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen DLC and Switch 2 Version Get October Release Date
Capcom has officially announced a major update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 at the Nintendo Direct today. The company has confirmed a new expansion titled Dark Arisen alongside a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. Both are set to release on October 9, 2026.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches October 9, 2026, across all platforms, while the base game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Dark Arisen expansion will bring new content, including a fresh region and additional playable vocations. Capcom has also hinted at more features still to be revealed.
The expansion name carries extra weight for longtime fans of the series. The original Dragon’s Dogma also received a Dark Arisen expansion in 2013, which significantly expanded the game and became widely considered the definitive version. Its reuse here suggests Capcom is positioning this new content as a major, game-changing update rather than a minor DLC add-on.
One of the key additions shown so far is a new snow-covered region called Norgan, along with new classes that expand the game’s vocation system. Dragon’s Dogma has long been known for its flexible combat roles and replayability, and Capcom appears to be building on that foundation with new ways to approach combat and exploration.
Alongside the expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is also heading to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. This marks the game’s debut on Nintendo hardware and brings the full open-world RPG experience to a portable platform. Performance will be closely watched, as the original release faced optimization challenges even on high-end systems.
