XBOX Store May Soon Add Lowest Price Indicator for Games and DLC
Digital storefronts run sales almost constantly, but figuring out whether a discount is genuinely worth grabbing still feels like guesswork. XBOX seems to be aware of that and could be preparing to change that.
Xbox Store may soon show the lowest recent prices for games and DLC
A new discovery from X user @redphx suggests Microsoft is testing a feature that would display a game’s lowest recent price directly on XBOX Store listings. The post first spotted by Windows Central suggests that the feature reportedly appeared in backend code and could help players figure out whether a title is actually at its cheapest price before they hit the buy button.
While Microsoft has yet to announce the feature publicly, the move would bring the XBOX Store closer to platforms like Steam and PlayStation, which already display price history information, at least in some regions.

Speaking of storefront changes, this isn’t the first XBOX backend update uncovered by @redphx in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the same tipster spotted references to a new “Buy Now, Pay Later” option linked to payment providers including PayPal and Klarna. While Microsoft hasn’t announced this feature publicly, we spotted the new option on XBOX store.
This isn’t the only change, as the company is also using the dashboard to highlight and promote exclusive games.
As things stand, it seems Microsoft appears to be rethinking how players shop on XBOX. Flexible payment options could make purchases easier, while price history tracking would add a layer of transparency that many digital stores still lack.
For now, the lowest-price indicator appears to remain hidden from public view. If it rolls out to the masses, it could become one of the most useful additions to the XBOX Store in years.
