Xbox Releases New Forza Horizon 6 Save Data Fix With Easier Cloud Recovery
Have you been worried about losing dozens of hours of progress in Forza Horizon 6? If the answer is yes, Xbox says its latest update could finally make that nightmare far less likely. Microsoft has now rolled out another fix to reduce save data loss while also giving players a much easier way to recover their progress if something still goes wrong.
Xbox rolls out new fix for Forza Horizon 6 save bug, makes cloud recovery easier
The latest update targets Xbox Series X|S consoles, with Microsoft saying it addresses several of the known scenarios responsible for save corruption. The company is encouraging every Forza Horizon 6 player to install the newest console update as soon as possible using the manual update steps available through Xbox Support.
Besides the console update itself, Microsoft has also quietly rolled out a separate backend improvement for all players. Going forward, anyone affected by save data issues should see a new save conflict dialog the next time they launch the game. Instead of waiting for Forza Support to manually restore progress, players can now simply select the Cloud save option to recover their latest synchronized save file directly from the console.
Speaking of recovery, Microsoft says this change dramatically reduces the impact of future save issues. Rather than risking complete profile corruption, any remaining problems should now be limited to losing progress from only a single gameplay session instead of an entire save history.
That being said, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the issue fully resolved just yet. The company says engineers continue investigating the remaining reports of lost saves and advises anyone who still encounters the problem after installing the latest update to submit a ticket through Forza Support while the investigation continues.
For now, if you’ve been holding off on playing because of the save bug, installing the newest Xbox update is probably the first thing you should do.
