XBOX Server Shutdowns Continue as More Games Go Offline Next Month
If you’ve been putting off those online achievements, you might want to change your plans. Several XBOX games are scheduled to lose online support next month, meaning players have only a few weeks left before servers start going offline.
According to TrueAchievements, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds will both lose online functionality on August 20. While neither title has online achievements that will become unobtainable, both games have already been delisted from the Microsoft Store, making physical copies the only way to access them.
The bigger concern is Warface: Clutch, whose servers are set to close on August 25. Once that happens, all remaining online achievements will become unavailable. New players are already unable to complete the game fully due to previously discontinued achievements, making the shutdown another blow for completionists.
Speaking of achievement hunters, NHL 22 and NHL 23 are also approaching the end of the road. Both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions of the games will lose online services on August 31, taking dozens of online achievements with them. NHL 22 will lose 19 online achievements per version, while NHL 23 will discontinue 21 achievements across each platform.
That being said, if any of these games are still sitting in your backlog, now is probably the best time to jump back in. Once the August deadlines arrive, the affected online modes and achievements will be gone for good.
