YouTube Music Is Getting a Smarter “Ask Music” and New “Your Podcast Lineup” Feature

YouTube Music is getting a couple of new AI-powered features that could make finding something worth listening to a lot easier. At this year’s Made on YouTube event, the video streaming giant announced new updates for Ask Music and a new personalized Your Podcast Lineup experience.

The company says YouTube Music users discovered an artist they had not listened to before more than 450 million times in July 2026. The latest changes are designed to push that discovery even further across music and podcasts.

Ask Music is getting smarter

Ask Music is built directly into the YouTube Music app and works across YouTube’s catalog of more than 300 million songs, including official recordings, remixes, live performances, covers and DJ sets.

YouTube says the conversational experience is being expanded with features that let users customize their queue and explore artist lore. Instead of simply searching for a song or artist, users can interact with Ask Music to shape what they want to hear.

That could make the feature useful when you know the kind of music you want but don’t have a specific album or artist in mind.

An AI podcast lineup

Podcast listeners are getting Your Podcast Lineup, a new personalized AI audio guide coming to YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers.

The feature provides a short weekly spoken preview of recommended podcast shows and explains why YouTube thinks each one could be interesting to you. It can then jump directly into the recommended episodes.

YouTube describes the experience as eyes-optional and hands-free, meaning users can listen to the recommendations without constantly interacting with the app. Both updates are coming soon to YouTube Music and Premium subscribers worldwide. YouTube has not provided a specific release date yet.
