Steam Hits 43.5 Million Concurrent Users, Shatters Its All-Time Record
Steam has smashed another major milestone, pushing its concurrent user count to an all-time high. Valve’s PC gaming platform continues to attract millions of users, and the latest record shows no signs of its momentum slowing down.
Steam breaks its concurrent user record yesterday
According to SteamDB’s player statistics, Steam reached its new peak on October 11. The milestone surpassed the previous record of 42,686,616 concurrent users, set in March 2026. That represents an increase of roughly 819,000 users over the previous peak. Notably, Steam achieved this milestone just seven months after its last record, highlighting the platform’s continued growth.
Speaking of which, the numbers reveal another interesting detail. Only around one-third of the users were actively playing games when Steam reached its latest peak. The remaining users were logged in without necessarily running a game.
Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 remain major draws
Steam’s biggest multiplayer games continue to attract massive audiences. According to Valve’s official Steam statistics, Counter Strike 2 recently recorded a daily peak exceeding 1.4 million players.
Dota 2 also crossed the one-million-player mark, while PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS attracted more than 700,000 concurrent players at its daily peak. These established titles remain major contributors to Steam’s activity.
Newer releases are also bringing players to the platform. AION 2 and WARDOGS have recorded notable player counts, adding to Steam’s already extensive gaming library. However, the available figures do not establish which games directly caused the overall record.
