In the massive blogpost published today, Microsoft has also announced several accessibility and creative improvements to Windows 11. The upcoming changes cover everything from screen customization and screen readers to digital inking and tactile feedback.

Windows 11 accessibility gets useful upgrades

Screen Tint lets users choose a color overlay and adjust its strength to make their displays more comfortable. Magnifier now supports separate zoom levels across multiple displays, allowing users to keep reference material enlarged on one screen.

Microsoft is also improving Narrator, its built-in screen reader. It can read mathematical expressions while preserving their structure, helping users follow equations more easily.

Braille support is getting attention, too. Narrator now supports HID-compatible braille displays connected through USB or Bluetooth during Windows setup. This can help users configure a new PC without installing additional drivers for supported displays. Users can find these options under Settings, then Accessibility, or by pressing Windows key + U.

Ink Canvas and haptics make interactions more natural

Microsoft Ink Canvas offers a flexible space for drawing, annotating, and collecting ideas using pen and touch. Users can select notes, drawings, and references, then use Copilot to help turn them into written or visual output. Microsoft says Ink Canvas comes preinstalled on Surface Pro 12-inch (2nd Edition). Users with other supported devices can download it through the Microsoft Store.

Windows 11 is also expanding advanced haptics. Compatible accessories can provide tactile feedback when snapping windows, aligning PowerPoint objects, or moving clips in Filmora. Supported devices include Surface Mouse (2nd Edition) and Logitech MX Master 4.

These features depend on compatible hardware, software, and Windows updates. Microsoft is rolling them out as part of its broader effort to make Windows more personal and accessible.
