Ahead of Xbox 360 Store's closure, Microsoft offers up to 90% off on games

Last year, Microsoft announced the closure of the Xbox 360 Store, 17 years after it was first launched. Now, with the closure set for July 29, 2024, fast approaching, Microsoft has decided to offer steep discounts, as high as 90%, on games in the Xbox 360 Store.

According to a post in the Xbox Wire, 66 games are currently available at discounts, almost all in the 75%-90% range. More games will be added to the list on June 18 and July 16 this year.

To celebrate the legacy of Xbox 360, we’re working with our amazing publishing partners to bring you as many price reductions from our online store or from the Xbox 360 Store on the console. We’ll be updating this list with more games on June 18, 2024, and on July 16, 2024, bringing you as many repriced games as possible before the end of July. These price reductions will remain in place for each game through the 360 store closing on July 29, 2024.

A few of the titles that received a 90% price cut include,

• Alien Rage
• Dogfight 1942
• Enemy Front
• Fireburst
• Handball 16

The first list of 66 games focuses on titles that are not backward compatible with Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S in a bid to keep them alive after the Xbox 360 Store closure. We may see similar games being added to the list on June 18 and July 16.

Any games purchased during the limited-period sale will remain playable even after the closing of the Xbox 360 Store. Besides, you will also be able to play supported titles on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility

This is the perfect opportunity to expand your Xbox 360 game collection while spending only a fraction of the earlier prices!

For the unversed, Xbox has hiked game prices by up to 300% in some regions.
