Since having launched on the Xbox One late last year as part of the Xbox Game Preview program, ARK: Survival Evolved has not included one of the Xbox’s most-loved features: achievements. In one of the upcoming updates, 739, Xbox Live Achievements will finally arrive on the hit open-world, dino-survival game.

Lead Designer, programmer, and co-creative director, Jeremy Stieglitz, announced the addition of achievements in response to a question raised on Twitter:

Among the hype of achievements, the game will also receive an update in the interim, version 738, this version contains all the content that its PC counterpart has up until version 243.9, as well as fixes and improvements. So far the changelog states the following:

  • All PC Content and fixes up thru v243.9 — Redwood Biome, Titanosaurus, Gas Mask, Rope Ladder, etc, ala:
  • Dedicated Server Save-Backups
  • Memory saving & cpu performance increase approximately 5%

Improvements to the memory saving and CPU performance will certainly be a welcome change as the Xbox One version has persistently struggled at times to maintain a steady frame-rate. However, optimizations with each new version have assisted in rectifying the situation for players.

More additions and changes are expected, as the changelog is updated as time progresses, rather than all in one go. Studio Wildcard, the studio behind the game, says that update 738 is planned to go live on July 4th, although this date is not set in stone and depends on Microsoft’s Windows Store team certifying the release.
