Arm Advisory Service

Back in October 2023, Microsoft released the new Advisory Arm Service to Windows in a quest to help developers build more Arm-optimized apps for Windows for Arm, right from the start.

Now, as part of its latest announcements, the Redmond-based tech giant says it’s making Arm Advisory Service available to developers all around the world. Plus, the platform will also support additional languages, and availability hours for customer care.

With all the momentum around the growing ecosystem, I’m very excited to announce that we are officially expanding the service to developers around the world. We now offer:

  • More languages: Support is now provided in English, Chinese (simplified, traditional), and Japanese.
  • More availability: We’re open during business hours in your local time zone, wherever you are.
  • More regions: Our expansion covers all regions worldwide.

Those wishing to hop in on the new platform can do so by accessing this link, and filling out the form. Microsoft will then process all the information and provide you with access to the new Advisory Arm Service.

In October 2023, we highlighted the top 5 benefits of developing apps on such a platform, and it seems Microsoft added more features to it, since then, which are now available to all members, worldwide. These include:

  • Technical workshop for development best practices, guidance, and implementation questions.
  • Suggestions regarding platform features to enhance the Arm application experience.
  • Code samples and reviews to enable Arm development.
  • Break-fix assistance with issues that arise when porting or building Arm apps.
  • Escalation path to Microsoft engineers to assist with software development and provide product feedback.

And, if this is not yet an incentive for developers to hop into it, Microsoft also revealed that several tech companies have been working on the platform including Lenovo, Dell, NordVPN, Netwrix, Forcepoint, and many more.

The Redmond-based tech giant will also collaborate with first and third-party software vendors for security, additional features, and so on.

Working with developers focused on Windows apps on Arm is just one of the ways the App Assure Arm Advisory Service supports the Windows app community. We regularly collaborate with first- and third-party software vendors to help ensure smoother run time, greater stability, expanded app abilities, and greater protection from security threats.

The platform comes just at the right time: in the summer, Qualcomm will reveal its X Elite, with many upcoming Windows AI PCs being equipped with it. The processor is also aimed at ARM devices, which many believe are the future.

For those interested in Arm Advisory Service, they just need to complete the form, and Microsoft will get back to them in the following days.
