Baldur's Gate 3 xbox

Baldur’s Gate 3 was the big winner at the Game Awards 2023, where the RPG won the title of the game of the year, taking the title from a list of strong and well-build video games, such as the Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdon, Spider-man 2, Resident Evil 4, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

With the win, Larian, the studio behind the game, announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to be available on Xbox S, and X, starting today, which is excellent news for Xbox users who finally want to experience this well-received video game.

If you remember, Baldur’s Gate caused a bit of controversy earlier this year, when Larian released the game for all major gaming consoles and devices, except for Xbox. In a really weird dilemma, Baldur’s Gate was supported on Stead Deck, a handheld gaming device, but was not supported on Xbox, which is a gaming console, after all.

However, back then, the studio assured Xbox users all over the world, that the delay was necessary for them to create the best experience playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox. They also promised Xbox users would see news of the release before the end of the year, and the studio kept its promise, as Baldur’s Gate can be finally enjoyed on Xbox S and X.

Baldur’s Gate on Xbox S, X: Everything you need to know

If you want to play Baldur’s Gate on Xbox S, and X, you won’t really have to worry about the specs. The game is quite demanding, indeed, as you can see here, but the Xbox consoles already have almost everything they need to run it.

Almost? Yes, you’ve read that right. Almost. That’s because, you’ll still need space to download and install Baldur’s Gate, and, if you plan on playing it on an Xbox Series S, you might want to free up some of it, because the game is big.Baldur's Gate 3 xbox

According to a screenshot from Xbox Enthusiast, @IdleSloth84_, you’ll need at least 137.55GB free on your Xbox storage to download and install the game. Coupled with the extra space needed for other files, such as savings, and possible DLCs or expansions, Baldur’s Gate can easily get to a hefty 160GB or even more.

So, with this in mind, installing Baldur’s Gate 3 on your Xbox will require you to manage some of your space.

Aside from that, though, the game should run just fine. Microsoft promises 60+ FPS for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox, plus multiple other perks such as Xbox achievements, Online co-op, Split Screen, Online Multiplayer, and so on.

Unfortunately, Xbox doesn’t support local co-op for Baldur’s Gate 3, but this shouldn’t be an impediment to enjoying it.

The game is available on Xbox X, and S, starting today, December 8, and for a good price of $69.99. Did we mention it was declared the game of the year? So it’s worth it.

Happy gaming, and let us know your experience with Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox below.
