clipchamp premium filters

it wasn’t so long ago, so we are pretty sure that everyone remembers one of Microsoft’s most latest and important purchases.

No, we aren’t talking about the purchase of Activision-Blizzard, although that is one of the top contenders in such a list.

We are actually hinting towards Clipchamp, which Microsoft decided to buy last year, on the 8th of September 2021.

Not only did the tech colossus buy Clipchamp, but it also decided to bundle it with Windows 11, exactly as they did with Teams.

Many companies were against Microsoft bundling their own software with Windows 11, even registering complaints with the European commission.

Now, the tech giant has decided that paying customers should receive a little extra when using the new Windows 11-native application.

If you don’t yet have Clipchamp, we can show you how to properly download and install Clipchamp on your Windows 11 PC.

Clipchamp now has Premium filters for $12 a month

As we’ve reminded you, Clipchamp is a Microsoft-owned cloud-based video editor that has become a little more attractive to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office subscribers.

The company not only simplified the subscription fees, but it now also offered some filters and effects for free users as well.

However, if you want the good stuff, just like with pretty much every software on the market today, you are going to have to pay.

Before Microsoft bought Clipchamp, the Free, Creator, Business, and Business Platinum subscriptions ranged from free to $40 a month.

After the business deal was concluded and the merger complete, Microsoft brought down the number of subscriptions to just two.

So, now we are looking at either the Free plan or the Essentials $12 per month plan. The Essentials subscription tier offers unlimited access to:

  • Premium filters and effects
  • Single brand
  • Content backup

The app’s effects and filters library for images and videos currently offers 57 filters, out of which, only nine are listed as premium.

There are also plenty of sound clips like hip hop, energy intro, bouncy walk instrumental, dark tense trailer, whoosh lower pitch.

However, if you also want access to dozens of additional music and SFX filters that are listed as premium, you have to subscribe.

Furthermore, Microsoft will unlock access to the Premium package for free to users that have a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Without beating around the bush, it’s obvious that Microsoft is essentially adding another perk to the Free tier of Clipchamp, and it is only applicable to users with a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Subscribing to the Clipchamp Essentials package also provides users access to content backup, premium audio, image, and video stock in addition to a brand kit with logos, colors, and fonts.

And yes, all of this is in addition to the premium filters and effects that we were talking about in the sentences above.

The Redmond-based tech colossus has already started asking free users who want to try Clipchamp Essentials, to link a Microsoft Account before subscribing.

In order to make this a lot simpler, if you want to use Clipchamp and any of its features, you will need to have a Microsoft account.
