Dead Island 2 grabs the top spot in Xbox Game Pass's Most Popular list

Dead Island 2, released almost a year ago and brought to Xbox Game Pass in Feb’24, has made it to the Most Popular list. The game sits comfortably at the top spot, above Minecraft and Palworld in the US.
As for the UK, Dead Island 2 ranks second in the Most Popular list, just below Minecraft.
Microsoft has never officially shared the metrics used to assess the popularity of a game, but based on reports, it’s most likely the number of downloads, playtime, engagements, and ratings.
Why is Dead Island 2 so popular?
Dead Island 2, with an age rating of 17+, is an action-packed role-playing game (RPG) where players battle zombies in a not-so-serious gameplay. The official website describes the game as, Horror, dark humor and over the top zombie-slaying, in an epic pulp adventure.
Some users do state that the first 45 minutes tend to be boring, but once you are past the initial stage and acquire advanced weapons, it gets exciting.
I hated this game for the first 40 mins but then it got fun really fast.
Besides, the penalty for a failed mission is minimal, ensuring that you can quickly recover and get back to playing.
The only downside is the short gameplay. If you are an avid gamer, it won’t last more than 12-14 hours of extensive gaming. And the missions are all somewhat similar!
Dead Island 2 is slated for a Steam release on April 22, 2024, so PC users won’t miss out on the fun!
