Dell updates Alienware gaming laptops with Kaby Lake processors and introduces new Inspiron 15 model

Dell unveiled yesterday a sleek new XPS 13 convertible laptop just in time for CES 2017, but today the company had other good news to announce to PC gamers. Indeed, the PC maker has just revealed an update to its latest Alienware portfolio plus a brand new Inspiron 15 gaming laptop featuring powerful specs in a more affordable package.
The Alienware 13, 15 and 17 laptops are getting an iterative update with the latest 7th Gen Intel Core processors, new NVIDIA graphics plus new SSD technology. The 15 and 17 models will now come with the more powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU, and Dell is also offering optional 99WHr batteries providing up to 10 or more hours of battery life with a Full HD display.
The updated Alienware 13 will be available on January 5 with an entry price of of $999, while the Alienware 15 and 17 will be available on January 12 starting at $1199 and $1299, respectively.
As for Dell’s new Inspiron 15 Gaming laptop, the company claims that it’s “the first introduction gamers can expect to see from Dell’s Inspiron gaming line.” The notebook will be available with 7th Gen Intel Quad Core processors as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050Ti GPUs, but there are additional options if you want a 4K screen or add up to 32GB of RAM. Other highlights include dedicated forward and rearward thermal outlets, dual fans and a 74WHr battery.
The Dell Inspiron 15 gaming notebook will be available in red or black and be sold exclusively at Best Buy and Dell.com starting January 5. Pricing will remain consistent with the consumer-focused Inspiron line, starting at $799.
