Microsoft announced the next-gen Xbox console a few weeks ago. According to the company, it’s coming in 2027, but not before releasing an Xbox handheld, which should be available at the end of this year or in 2026.
Touted as the most powerful Xbox console, the next-gen Xbox should reinvigorate the Redmond-based tech giant’s gaming department. This is especially true after recently low sales of the Xbox Series S and X compared to the other consoles on the market, which prompted many to say that Xbox is losing the console war, whatever that means.
Why are we saying this? Well, because, at a quick glance on Reddit, gamers are more than ecstatic about the next-gen Xbox console: they, too, agree that the next console will be the best on the market.
Yes, Microsoft usually nails the hardware and software on consoles (let’s ignore the Xbox One 🙃), much better than Windows at least.
Most gamers agree that the Xbox consoles are pretty durable, and they’re not crippled with hardware or software issues. Plus, the ability to choose between two types of consoles, one for casual gamers and the other one for more hardcore gamers, has also been received well by the community. However, some said this decision meant that certain games were available on Xbox on release day (with the latest example being Baldur’s Gate 3).
The Reddit thread, although still an unofficial forum, is a good way to get the sentiment regarding the next-gen Xbox, and it’s surprisingly positive.
If the price is right, yeah. I mostly play on pc, but almost all of my friends are on Xbox, and not every game has crossplay.
Yup, while i have a PC and i know its more flexible in terms of games and power, i enjoy the simplicity of my xbox as a gamepass machine to just relax and play on.
Yes. I prefer gaming on consoles as opposed to PC or streaming and I have a large Xbox Library that will go with me to the next console.
Are you excited about the next-gen Xbox console?
