Web browsers are a common target for cyberattacks, and to keep users safe, Microsoft is frequently releasing new updates.

Speaking of which, the latest update for Microsoft Edge is here, so let’s take a closer look at it and see what’s new.

The latest Edge update is here and it addresses various security issues

Recently, a new security update for Edge was released, and according to Microsoft’s post, the update remedies several security issues.

The update brings the latest Security Updates of the Chromium project to Edge. For details, you can check the Security Update Guide.

Besides Chromium security updates, this version also addresses the Microsoft Edge spoofing issue. The vulnerability is labeled as CVE-2024-29981 and it’s considered a non-severe issue.

CVE-2024-29049 was also patched, and this is a Webview2 spoofing vulnerability. Unlike the previous one, this one is classified as a moderate threat.

While this update brings nothing new, it fixes various security issues, so it’s advised to download the latest version and keep your browser safe.

In other news, Microsoft Edge 124 Beta updates the First Run Experience. If you use Edge on multiple platforms, you’ll be pleased to hear that Edge can now show you cross-device search query history suggestions.
