ESET Home products improvement

ESET is definitely stepping up its security products for Home and it’s rebranding them. Not only that, but now, they have extra security features tailored for these modern times and usages.

In this article, we’re going to talk about all the new features and advantages of this line of security suites.

ESET is rebranding its Home products

First of all, ESET Internet Security and ESET Smart Security Premium have received new transitional names.

ESET Internet Security gets the HOME Security Essential name, and ESET Smart Security Premium is listed as HOME Security Premium.

However, now, all the products have significant improvements, and we will highlight them below.

What are the new improvements in ESET Home products?

1. Integration with Intel Threat Defense Technology

Now, all the products have integrated Intelโ€™s hardware-based ransomware detection technology.

The technology boosts ransomware protection and it exposes any attempts while trying to avoid detection in memory.

This technology uses the Intel TDT machine-learning models on Intel Core Processors to detect such threats.

Advanced evasion techniques like zero-day variants, binary obfuscation, virtual machine cloaking, and file-less attacks will be immediately addressed without any significant changes in the system’s performance.

2. Redesigned user interface with Dark mode

All ESET products now have a new and improved interface with a modern design and intuitive menus. And yes, a Dark mode was added as well!

Speaking of the interface, the Brute Force Attack protection was added to the Settings menu.

Also, while going through the Banking & Payment Protection section, you will notice that the SecureAllBrowsers mode is now turned ON by default for all compatible browsers.

That means you will not be redirected to another secure browser window, thus preventing any phishing attempts.

When opening ESET, you will also be able to see clearly the overall protection status of your machine. The software combines the validity statuses of the licenses and the security statuses of your connected devices.

And you are now able to download protection and access the local technical support form right from the Home Screen.

3. Two-factor authentication

ESET has added an extra layer of protection, a two-factor authentication feature within ESET Home, which is the platform that manages your ESET licenses.

All the popular TOTP apps are now compatible. This includes all solutions like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, ESET Secure Authentication, Authy, and others.

In the event that you replace or lose your phone and no longer have access to your two-factor authentication app, ESET automatically sends you a set of backup codes you can use to log back in.

Other notable ESET improvements

Network Inspector – Now, it is possible to mark a network as My Network. Also, you can use ESET to test your home router for vulnerabilities such as weak passwords.

Password Manager – The new onboarding feature enables direct password store creation with ESET Home account email.

With these significant changes, ESET is pushing its products to a new level of protection.
