Adjustable-height desks are all the rage right now, and it’s really no wonder why. Between sitting all day or standing all day, neither presents the healthiest option—or most productive, for that matter. But why choose, especially when there are so many sit/stand desk solutions out there?

Flexispot has become one of the leaders in the kinetic furniture market. This California-based company has been around for awhile, and started making height-adjustable standing desks in 2015. In it’s About Us page Flexispot states,

With advanced design and technology, we make furniture that’s as seamless, sturdy, and eco-conscious as it is homey and comfortable.

Its products are made of 100% recyclable materials. Flexispot had the #1 top-rated standing desk according to TechRadar in both 2021 and 2022. That’s quite an impressive accolade…so how would its E7 height-adjustable desk stack up in your office space? Read on to find out.

Set up and assembly

Let’s get this out of the way up front: assembling the Flexispot E7 desk is ideally a two-person job. And that’s due to the weight of the main components alone. Or at least that was the case with the specific unit in this review, which came with Flexispot’s “Gaming Series” desktop option. (There are a ton of materials to choose from by the way, in a range of size options, all of which you can check out in this handy PDF).

The process itself isn’t anything too complicated, and should probably take less than an hour for most. The instructions that come with the desk are adequate if less-than-perfect, and there are videos available online like this one from Flexispot that should prove very helpful. If you do choose to tackle the assembly alone, it can be done—I did it solo, after all. Just be sure to eat your wheaties beforehand.

User experience

The upside of all that weight is that once you’ve got it all put together, this thing is rock-solid, and with a weight capacity of 355 lbs the Flexispot E7 can handle anything you can stack on it. In fact, if for some reason I got the urge to take a nap on the E7 as an adult male well over 200lbs., I’d be perfectly confident in doing so. Seriously, it’s that sturdy.

The LCD touch keypad is easy to use, and includes a child lock for safety purposes. It also had an embedded USB charging port. Users can program custom height presets to go from sitting to standing or vice versa with even greater ease. Raising or lowering the desk is done smoothly, so you won’t need to worry about toppling your desktop equipment or any of that. It’s also quiet, as in almost silent. The desk I received came with an outlet splitter to accommodate my various devices.
