Gamestop’s trade-in system lets gamers sell used consoles and video games in return for newer ones. Widely known for being convenient when new generation consoles come knocking, Gamestop retailers didn’t leave fans disappointed once the Xbox One S hit the shelves.

According to Gaming Bolt, the trade-in offer for the Xbox One S was originally only going to last until July 31st. Now it has been extended towards the rest of this month as well. Put credit towards your Xbox One S purchase by trading in any of the following consoles:

  • 3DS XL or Wii U can be traded in for up to $100 off.
  • Xbox One can be traded in for up to $150 off.
  • Playstation 4 can be traded in for up to $200 off.

This also includes trading towards any of the new console and game bundles. Learn more about how to build up trade credit with Gamestop and find more offers on the official web page.

Many gamers would find the trade in as a worthy upgrade from the Xbox One, especially with the $150 discount. The new generation’s slim design removed nearly 40% of the consoles body mass. Under the hood, the 2 TB console makes it possible to stream 4K resolution video and  features a built-in power brick. IFixIt even tore the new console apart, giving it an 8 out of 10 rating for repairability. Add on the sleek Bluetooth controller for easy gaming and you’ve got a $400 purchase worth sinking your teeth into.

Of course, others might be holding out to learn more about the highly anticipated Project Scorpio teased to us at E3 earlier this year.

If you’re ready to give up your old and get your hands on the new, then this is the opportunity for you. We can’t be certain that the offer will last past the end of August so be certain to check it out while you still can.
