The Microsoft Store pages for Gears 5, the latest entry in one of the biggest first-party Xbox franchises, are now live and they confirm a variety of information fans had been wondering about in addition to reiterating some of what was said during the E3 2019 Xbox conference.

Gears 5 will release on September 10th, as an earlier leak had suggested, and will be available in a regular version and an Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate edition comes with the regular version of the game plus the Ultimate Edition Character Pack, 30 days of Boost, and four days of early access.

The game will support Xbox Play Anywhere which means that buying it on Xbox One will unlock it on Windows 10 and vice versa. Gears 5 will also support cross-platform multiplayer between Xbox One and Windows 10 versions.

Like most first-party Microsoft video games, Gears 5 will be added to the Xbox Game Pass library on Xbox One consoles in addition to the new Xbox Game Pass PC service. This means that subscribers to either (or both if they have the Ultimate subscription) will be able to play Gears 5 for free on launch day. Well, in addition to the Game Pass subscription fee that is.

Gameplay wise, Gears 5 will support local multiplayer for up to three players and online multiplayer matches with up to 10 players. It will also play in 4K UHD when played on an Xbox One X console.

As a special incentive to get people to pre-order, anyone who makes a digital pre-order of Gears 5 or pre-install Gears 5 with an active Xbox Game Pass membership before launch will receive the Terminator Dark Fate Character Pack. This exclusive DLC unlocks the characters of Sarah Connor and the T-800 Endoskeleton plus seven days of Boost.
