Geforce now windows 7

Nvidia announced that the GeForce NOW app will stop backing Windows 7 and 8.1 from November 2024 onwards. In a blog post, the tech giant, which has recently become the biggest company in the world for a while, said this choice also applies to older macOS models.

This news may be stunning to individuals still using Windows 7 or 8.1. But it’s an honest reality that technology progresses swiftly, and keeping current is a necessary element of the process.

Nvidia’s support page mentioned this week that updates for the GeForce NOW app will no longer be supported on these old systems (legacy). What does this imply for you? Well, if GeForce NOW is already set up on your device, you cannot update to the newest version of the app.

Nvidia recommends switching to a wholly supported operating system so that you can continue receiving and enjoying all updates and fulfill future demands for playing games on GeForce NOW.

If GeForce NOW is already installed on Windows 7, or any other legacy operating system, you will be unable to update to the latest GeForce NOW app.  We recommend using a fully supported operating system to continue playing, not just to have the latest GeForce NOW app updates but also because it may become required to play games on GeForce NOW in the future.

However, this is a positive point for those unprepared to update their operating system. You can still reach GeForce NOW using a supported web browser on its official site. Yet, it is essential to note that not every web browser in these older operating systems will back up the most recent versions and security upgrades. While there’s a workaround, it’s not without limitations.

Nvidia’s action is a vital sign that the tech world is progressing, and keeping up is very important. People who are using older operating systems may need to think about upgrading their systems not only for gaming but also for security and performance reasons. Remember that technology constantly changes, and adjusting to new things is crucial for survival.
