Obsidian Entertainment, one of the new game studios that Microsoft acquired two years ago, revealed a new IP named Grounded at X019 last fall. Before the survival adventure game will enter Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access on July 28, Obsidian revealed today that there will be a limited-time early demo on Xbox One and PC from June 9 through June 14.

This first demo will give players “a look at one day in the life of Grounded’s single player campaign,” according to the developer. Grounded is a first-person survival game where players have been shrunk to the size of an ant living in a suburban backyard. The game will support co-op with up to three other players, and Obsidian is working on story-based missions to complement survival activities.

To join this first Grounded flight on June 9, Xbox One gamers will need to sign up for the Xbox Insider Program and register for the demo through the Xbox Insider Hub. Slots on Xbox One will be limited, but the Steam demo for PC players will be available for everyone on June 9. Grounded is actually one of the games that will participate in the Steam Game Festival, which is Valve’s celebration of new games to be released within the next year.

“We’re excited to have you start this journey with us and get into the game, as it is important to us to get your feedback. Having both the Xbox Insider and Steam demos line up at the same time means we can hear from as many of you as possible before the game enters Xbox Game Preview with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Steam Early Access on July 28,” wrote, Mikey Dowling, Director of Communications, Obsidian Entertainment.
