Google Keep gets an AI upgrade in the form of Gemini

With AI becoming integrated into every other app and the rise of Gemini, Google Keep is also getting ready for an AI upgrade. The upcoming Help me create a list feature, which uses Gemini, is supposed to streamline list-making processes within the app.

9to5Google spotted the feature, which is set to be released in 2024 and is said to introduce convenience for Google Keep users.

It will use Gemini to generate lists based on natural language descriptions, making tasks such as checklist of meal prep, grocery shopping, or ideas to decorate living room, more efficient.

How does the Help me create a list feature work?

Launch Google Keep on your Android phone or tablet, and locate the Help me create a list button from the bottom right corner. Now type in Classic movies to watch over in Christmas holidays or anything related to a checklist you want to make.

Gemini will analyze the input and suggest the items to create a list. You can click Input to add the items suggested by AI, which ensures that you have control.

Future Rollout

As mentioned, the feature will be released in 2024, but there is no official date, and it is currently under testing.

Once the feature is added to Google Keep in the public version, you will see a floating action button in Google Keep.

Initially, the feature will be available in English for the United States market and is anticipated to expand to other languages and regions in the future.

Tips and Tricks to use the feature efficiently

  • Be precise in your description to get relevant suggestions.
  • Use color coding and sublists for better categorization.
  • Always be ready to provide feedback to help AI and get improved suggestions.
  • Don’t completely rely on AI suggestions, do you research before finalizing a list.
  • Avoid sharing personal or sensitive information.

We all know about the Help me write feature in Google Workspace apps like Sheets, Docs, and Slides; however, it is limited to the web. However, according to 9to5, Google Keep’s AI list creation feature will join Help me write in Gmail.

Like other tech companies, Google is also working hard to integrate AI into its Workspace apps and other products to ensure you can complete your everyday tasks more efficiently.
