GTA 6 release on PC

The PC vs console war heats up with the release of GTA 6 around the corner. This is one of the most anticipated game releases in decades.

As per initial reports, GTA VI for PC will be released in Q1 2026, a year after the console (Xbox and PlayStation) release scheduled for Q1 2025.

A similar pattern has been witnessed in the past. GTA V had a console launch in 2013 while the game arrived on PCs in 2015, almost two years later.

These developments have GTA fans with PCs all worried, and they are exploring possible options, including purchasing a console. According to recent leaks, PS5 Pro will be the perfect choice for GTA 6, when released. A user wrote on Reddit,

I’m literally buying twice. I’m a PC gamer, but I’m buying a PS5 to play GTA6 day 1. Then when it comes to PC I’m buying it again.

PC releases for games are often delayed, as was the case with Red Dead Redemption 2, which came to consoles in Oct 2018 but took another year for the PC.

This improves console sales as players have switched to gaming laptops in recent years, and offers more initial privacy and modding protection to the game.
