Yesterday, Microsoft announced at Gamescom that over 100 Xbox One games will be enhanced for the Xbox One X when the new console launches in November. Many upcoming games such as Forza Motorsports 7, Assassin’s Creed Origins and PlayerUnknown’s Battleground will be ready for the new console at launch, but many developers will also release free updates for existing titles such as Quantum Break, Dishonored 2, Halo 5: Guardians and more.
As a reminder, “Xbox One X Enhanced” doesn’t mean that a game will run in native 4K and support HDR: Microsoft has created two other logos for these specifications, which will be visible on both retail Xbox games and in the Xbox Store.
According to Microsoft, the “Xbox One X enhanced” label means that “a developer had done special work to take advantage of 6 teraflops of power in Xbox One X. Enhanced features will vary by game.” In other words, this means better graphics and performance, though please note that it doesn’t mean that a game that used to run at 30FPS will now run at 60FPS. Actually, we wish Microsoft and developers were more transparent about which games run at 60FPS, as this is probably much more important than 4K graphics for many gamers.
Anyway, here is the full list of games that will be enhanced for the Xbox One X at launch:

That’s a pretty nice selection of games to start with, and we hope more developers will update their existing games going forward. You may note that some of Microsoft Studios titles such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive or Ryse: Son of Rome are not included in the list for now, in addition to other super popular titles like Grand Theft Auto V or Battlefield 1. Let us know in the comments which are the games you would like to see enhanced for the Xbox One X.
