Activision Games Ubisoft+

There have been more than 3 months since Microsoft sealed the ABK (Activision-Blizzard-King) acquisition, one of the biggest acquisitions in tech, and gaming.

Valued at a staggering $69 billion, the biggest of its kind, the acquisition brought a lot of hope to those gamers who wanted the Activision Blizzard King games on Game Pass. We’re talking about games such as Call of Duty, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and more.

While both parties are considering it (Microsoft and Blizzard, at least, have been thinking about it, and it might happen in the future), nothing is conclusive so far. However, it seems that until that happens, the Activision Blizzard games might actually find another home on Ubisoft+.

In an interview with Philippe Tremblay, Director of Subscription at Ubisoft+, he revealed that Ubisoft is working on an offer for Activision Blizzard, to host their games on the platform, and more details will be revealed soon.

Can you tell us anything more about the Activision Blizzard games catalog and when it might be coming?

PT: We know players are excited about that, and I am too. We’re working on the offering right now to make sure it’s the best possible experience for our subscribers, and we’ll have more to share later.

Could Activision Blizzard games be coming to Ubisoft+ in 2024?

While we don’t know for sure if they’re coming to Ubisoft+ in 2024, the Activision Blizzard games will be coming to the platform sooner or later, as Ubisoft signed an agreement in 2023, that gives Ubisoft cloud streaming rights to games like Call of Duty and more, coming into effect upon the completion of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, as their press release states.

Ubisoft has the rights to stream the current AB games, as well as those released in the 15 years after the completion of the acquisition. The deal was closed in 2023, so this basically gives Ubisoft rights until 2038.Activision Games Ubisoft+

If you put it that way, it’s a long time. So there is time for these games to be available on Ubisoft+. However, as time is money, delaying the release of the games on the streaming platform would only mean that Ubisoft won’t gain anything from the agreement, so the two parties might actually agree to a release date sooner than we think.

The AB games will probably be available to Ubisoft+ this year, but nothing is certain so far. However, it will definitely happen, sooner or later.

Are you excited for it?
