While Microsoft already has revealed some details about what Xbox and Surface sales their retail store will offer up this holiday season, the company is also now highlighting how Santa Claus uses the Microsoft Cloud to meet the high demand for gifting this holiday season.
The post highlighting the demand was written by Joe Davies, a Senior Content Developer at Azure Documentation. Overall, it looks at how Santa’s annual Christmas process requires massive amounts of computing and storage resources.  As seen in the graphic above, the post also puts Santa in the shoes of a CEO, and highlights several steps of the process where the Microsoft Cloud helps Santa in his decisions:
- Collect and analyze current and historical data and requests for presents from multiple sources (Azure Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse, and Stream Analytics)
- Work with vendors and partners during various parts of the manufacturing process
- Perform the final determination of just who is naughty and who is nice (SQL Data Warehouse and Machine Learning)
