Use China Post tracker

The China Post tracking is the most efficient parcel delivery online application, and it can monitor your parcel delivery from day one after you make the purchase until it reaches your doorsteps.

The best way to track a China Post is by using the Ordertracker website application but you can use many other websites that will get you almost the same information.

What is China Post tracker?

If you’re expecting to get something from China, it’s most likely through China Post, a trusted name in the mail, package, and freight delivery industry.

The parcel delivery service is just a part of the business. China Post offers domestic and international postal logistics, distribution of printed media, correspondence, and many more.

China Post has no less than 927,171 employees and was ranked 2nd among all postal companies in 2019 with a revenue of almost $90 million.

How can I track a parcel through China Post service?

You may ask how do I track China Post? It’s extremely easy but you will first need to get in the position to send or receive a parcel.

For instance, after you make a purchase, you will get a unique tracking ID that you will need to use in order to track your parcel from the point of departure to your door.

You just need to type or paste the tracking ID into the search window from the app and hit the Track a parcel button underneath.

There are three types of parcels, and all of the IDs have 13 characters (letters and digits):

  • Large packages will have the tracking ID starting with CP, then you will see 9 digits and the CN letters at the end that stand for China
  • Small packages will have a tracking ID that will start with R and another letter, then again 9 digits and the CN suffix
  • Express Mail Services will have the ID starting with E and another letter, followed by 9 digits and the CN or CS letters at the end.

How much time does the shipping takes?

Of course, the shipping time will greatly depend on the means of delivery. If it gets by air it will take a lot shorter than a hybrid or a surface-only method.

That can vary from only a few days for the Express Mail service to up to 3 months for surface delivery. We have an estimated time delivery table for the main regions of the world, provided by the company.

DestinationAir ParcelSurface Air LiftSurface ParcelExpress Mail

European and American Countries10 – 30 days30 – 60 days60 – 120 dayswithin 5 days
Other Countries and Regions15 – 40 days30 – 60 days60 – 120 dayswithin 4 days

Usually, the website where you make the purchase will tell you an estimated time of arrival for the parcel but that is why the China Post tracking app is so important.

You will see exactly where your package is at any moment, and you will be able to estimate when it will reach you.

Of course, nobody will be able to tell you with utmost precision anything from the start because there are such unforeseen events that can alter the delivery time.

China Post package details

It’s important to know that, as you’ve noticed above, the packages are classified as a Small Package or a Large Package according to their size and weight.

The Small Parcel has to be under 2 kg (4.4 lb) and with a size smaller than 90x90x90 cm (35.4×35.4×35.4 in) to be shipped from China to any international destination.

If your package weighs more than 2 kg but less than 30 kg (66.1 lb), it will be classified as a Large Package. The company says that although the package is bigger, the delivery is cheaper than any express delivery.

Both types of packages can be sent over on three types of services: Air Parcel, Surface Air Lift (SAL), and Surface Parcel.

The shortest delivery is achieved by a fourth method, the Express Mail (EMS) delivery that is extremely fast but more expensive than any other method, of course.

The difference between Ordinary and Registered Mail

This is probably the most important aspect of all. Sometimes, you will be able to select between Ordinary or Registered Mail.

The first one is cheaper, but you won’t get any shipment tracking service. That means you won’t be able to see it moving towards the destination.

Moreover, you won’t have any compensation if your item gets lost. That’s why we would recommend only going for the Registered Mail service.
